Personal data

To access or use some of the contents of the Project Walk@Work Spain website (hereinafter in the Project), the User may have to previously provide the UVic-UCC with certain personal data, which will only be used for the purpose for which they were collected with the prior authorisation of the User. By supplying personal data to the UVic-UCC, the User declares that they fully and unreservedly accept the treatment given to these data by the UVic-UCC.

With respect to compliance with Organic Law 15/1999 of 13 December, concerning the protection of personal data (Spanish LOPD), the personal data which might be provided by the User to access the contents of the website are included in a file which is owned and remains under the responsibility of the UVic-UCC, and which is registered with the Spanish Data Protection Agency. The data will not be treated for any purpose other than that authorised by the User and in order to guarantee access to the blogs to be able to take part in them, and will not be granted to third parties (with the exception of what is provided below). The User may at any time exercise all rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition of their collected and filed data in writing to the address indicated in the General Conditions of Use or to the electronic address walkatworkspain@uvic.es, in all cases providing a photocopy of the ID or equivalent document. The UVic-UCC has established measures to protect the User’s personal data from any unauthorised accesses on the Net (Internet) and has established all technical means within its reach to avoid unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or theft of the data which the User provides to the UVic-UCC, although the security measures on the Net (Internet) might not be inexpungible.

No personal data are collected via the website without the User’s consent, nor are their personal data passed on to others. Without prejudice to the above, the UVic-UCC may supply data to Project researchers from outside the UVic-UCC (University of Vigo, University of the Basque Country, Blanquerna-Ramon Llull University, as these are institutions which form part of the Project) with the sole purpose for which they were requested from the User with their authorisation, in order to be used (exclusively) for the development of the activities and actions which might be necessary for the Project. If the UVic-UCC has the intention of using the personal information for any purpose not described in this Data Protection Policy, the User will be duly informed in order to give their authorisation. In any case, the personal data provided by the User may be supplied to the referred third parties only with the purpose of fulfilling the above ends in accordance with what is established in the Spanish LOPD, and always with the consent of those concerned whenever necessary.

The UVic-UCC reserves the right to modify this Privacy and Data Protection Policy to adapt it to all the legislative, jurisprudential or interpretative developments of the Spanish Data Protection Agency and all bodies competent in this area. In this case, the UVic-UCC will announce said changes on its website and, whenever necessary, will ask for acceptance of the changes from the User.

Infringement, applicable law and jurisdiction

In the event of infringement of any of the commitments specified in these Conditions of Use, the UVic-UCC may, unilaterally and without prior warning, terminate or suspend the provision of the website service to the User. This suspension or withdrawal will in no case entitle the User to any compensation. The applicable law in the event of dispute or conflict in the interpretation of the terms forming the General Conditions, the Data Privacy Policy and any other special conditions as well as any question related to the contents of this website will be Spanish law (expressly excluding the rules of conflict). In resolving any conflict related to the use of the website, the UVic-UCC and the User agree to submit to the jurisdiction which might be legally applicable.
